Raymond Corporation, Division of Toyota Industries


Michael G. Field is chief executive officer (CEO) for The Raymond Corporation, the North American market leader in producing electric forklifts for the warehouse and distribution markets. Raymond forklifts use regenerative AC inverter driven motor and controls technology. Tens of thousands of units per year are produced at the Greene, New York plant in Chenango County and all those units require energy storage. The most common storage device is a lead acid battery, though Raymond produces units designed to be powered by fuel cells and integrated lithium-ion batteries optimizing on board energy management systems integrated in forklifts as part of the Raymond Value proposition.

A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, Mr. Field holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University and an MBA with a concentration in International Operations from Boston University. He is a council member of the Rochester Institute of Technology Kate Gleason College of Engineering Dean's Advisory Council. Mr. Field is a board member of the New York State Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) and the Industrial Truck Association (ITA). Mr. Field holds a Professional Engineering License in New York State.
